Tim Armstrong | Operation Ivy
Energy Guitar Plugin
Energy is a guitar plugin built around the classic tone of the 1989 Operation Ivy LP. Over-the-top punk distortion on the dirty side, like "Knowledge" and "Jaded," and a punchy, tight clean channel that stays fast and articulate, like "Sound System" and "Take Warning." The full range of that record, dirty to clean.
"Energy captures the sound I used on the 1989 Operation Ivy LP. Big, over-the-top punk distortion when you want it, but it's versatile. I'd go clean and punchy on it too, the way I did on 'Sound System' and 'Take Warning.' That's the whole spectrum of that record in one plugin."
